In May of 2014, Jamie had the opportunity to spend a week in Togo, West Africa with Missionaries Randy and Carolyn Adams for one week. While there, he was able to spend quality time with both missionary families to ask questions and learn more about their stories and their burdens. Bro. Adams was kind enough to give a tour of Togo and some of the surrounding villages, markets, and the like. In Jamie’s words, “It was an eye-opening humbling experience that could only make you fall in love with the joy and resilience of the Togolese people. “
While in Togo, it was also Jamie’s great honor to be able to teach on two separate occasions at the Bible School that Bro. and Sis. Adams administers. Upon completion of my teaching, one of the classes earnestly prayed for him and his family and their burden for the people of West Africa – completely humbling and amazing experience!
In addition to teaching, Jamie also had the esteem privilege of preaching the Sunday morning service at one of the local churches. Jamie summed up the experience: “Watching those people worship tirelessly was so amazing that words cannot even begin to describe it. This exploratory trip was well worth the money and time spent and has only made me long to return – but with my family next time!”
